I remember there was this 'dislike The Knack', and I liked them - then AND now (purputedly about Doug's lyrics being about Humbert Humbert-ish, if you get my meaning). It was HIS lyrics, and that's NOT reality, any more than anything else made by an artist in a film, record, etc. They wrote melodic tunes, and should've had a better chance at 'surviving'.😊

Why did the Knack fail to become the Beatles' successors? Well, perhaps...Doug was good enough at emulating Paul McCartney...But alas, the band didnt have a John Lennon emulator....

I have the version from UA-cam music where he says sitting on your face. Lol!!

Buddy Holly sang the original version and Humble Pie did its own take of the song in 1969, but this cover by The Knack blows the former two out of the water by a mile. In fact, their version was so great you'd be forgiven if you thought theirs was the original. They practically OWN this song. (Sorry, Buddy)

Nothing like original rock & roll from back in the day!. I've seen so many "react" vids and over & over they say "they sound exactly like their recording (back then was vinyl). I'm always like, duh, that's why we are still so completely enamored and loyal to our pre 21st century musicians. They're authentic.👍👍🤟🤟✌️
